8th Grade
The following are some important dates for 8th graders.
High Meadows Field Trip — Thursday, May 31st Class Day — Friday, June 1st Awards Night — Wednesday, June 6th Graduation — Saturday, June 9th
Literature: We are wrapping up a novel study and beginning to review for exams.
Writing: We are concluding our review of punctuatuation/editing and are beginning to review for exams
8th grade Social Studies: We are studying pre-WWI America, as it becomes a World Power. This takes right into the study of WWI.
8th grade Pre-Algebra: We are finishing up our work with Inequalities and will be going on to a review of Factors, Fractions, and Exponents.
Math: In algebra, we will be looking at powers and the multiplication and division properties of exponents. We will celebrate Pi Day on March 14th.
Grade 8 Science- We will be working briefly on carbon chemistry beforemoving on to motion and forces.
Religion
We have a few more chapters before the Unit2 test.
We will then begin The Family Life Program.
In February we will take the ACRE Test. This is a test taken
by all eighth graders in Catholic and Religious Education programs
to test basic knowledge of the Catholic faith.

Spanish
We are finishing Chapter 7.There will be a test. Students
should start studying the vocabulary on page 61.
Chapter 8 theme is: Home. The vocab. will include names for furniture, appliances, chores, and names for rooms in a house. The verbs will be: poner, hacer, preferir and IR verbs.
