2nd Grade
The students in second grade have been very busy learning new and
exciting information. Below you will read about some of the things we
will be doing.
Religion – During the month of February we will finish up our Family
Life books and work on our Circle of Grace program. The students who
have received the Sacrament of Penance will go to confession again
during this month.
Social Studies – February is Black History month. We will read about
some of our Famous Black Americans such as Harriet Tubman and Ruby
Bridges. The children have already learned about Dr. King and Rosa
Parks.
Science – We will investigate and learn about crystals and snowflakes.
We will also experiment with growing a crystal in the classroom.
Math – We are working with money. The children are counting on using
dollars, half dollars, quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies. It will
help to practice counting moneyat home, too.
Reading – The children continue to enjoy their new books. They are
now working online in the computer lab. The children will bring home
the website with their passwords and web address the week of the 6th.
You will find assignments that the children can work on at home. It
will be a review of what we do in the classroom. They are now
familiar with this program. It is a wonderful tool to use at school
and at home.
